SPRING PROGRAM at BEACH GROVE HOME

What a great day SMUG had at Beach Grove today with our new Spring 2017 Program. Turned out to be a real "keeper" and the many, many residents gave their approval in many warm and meaningful gestures, the best being their singing along. I'm proud of you all for your valiant effort and strong singing. We may very well do it again.Thanks to Marilyn for her kind introduction and to the staff for bringing the residents out to enjoy the program. They ARE A VERY HAPPY AND UPBEAT GROUP guided by some marvelous and devoted helpers at the home.

Now didn't we have a time yesterday. A repeat from a year ago of Audrey's St. Patrick's program. Only sorry to see no one up dancing yesterday, as I know last year we had some "cuttin' a rug". Many of the residents came out for the celebration, the largest crowd we have ever seen at The Mount, and so many faces we recognized. As always, there are never enough photos taken to add to the interest on this blog. The residents sang and clapped for a whole hour and then reported they were hoping we would return again. Always nice to hear. We even had owner Paul Jenkins drop by to thank us. Thanks to activity director Charmaine for laying out the chairs and lots of water which was appreciated by all.All you Irish enjoy the day today.

ANDREWS STRUMMERS EXCEL AT ANDREWS 2017 LEVEE

Today the City Of Charlottetown and the Town of Stratford held their annual New Year's Levee along with dozens of other organizartions, but this was our very special Levee at Andrews of Stratford where we have fun to go with the traditional formality experienced at most Levees. We, the Andrews Strummers certainly had fun anyway. and were told so by many who took the time to drop by and congratulate us all on a fine performance. The house was pleased to also have Joan Woods who played the piano and shared sets with us. Terry came up with the great food as he always does and the day was heightened by a glass or two of bubbly. We are most  grateful to those "extras", friends of the ukulele who joined to help make us heard over the crowd assembled for the two hours. Dancing was often seen in the background, something usually not seen at levees, but often reserved for such times as New Year's Eve.
