THANK YOU PRESIDENT MAURICE.....THANK YOU EVERYONE

THE HAPPY GANG.......... MERRY CHRISTMAS

David congratulating President Maurice on another successful and fun-filled year.

Our 8th Christmas Party was once again a great success with almost every SMUGGER in attendance for the singing and feasting. Dennis did the honours and I sat back and felt SMUG, especially after Maurice's kind and generous words.Your gift to Diane and me will be enjoyed for sure as we are frequent patrons of Papa Joes'. This was our 4th consecutive Christmas Party at Razzy's and as always Celeece was at her best with  great service and her beautiful smile, not to mention the complimentary coffee and tea.(everyone said it was as good as mine). It's good to have the privacy and the catering as well, and the food at Razzy's is always superb.

The following photos were taken prior to the mishap with the camera, and our thanks to Kelly for coming to the rescue. It would have been a shame not to have had such a great day recorded in our history. You will all be glad to know that the camera has been replaced and will be ready for another glorious year ahead. God Bless you All and have a Very Merry Christmas and the best 2016 it is possible to have. Thank you all for your participation in 2015....we had fun together.

SMUG EXCELS AT FINAL PERFORMANCE FOR 2015

SMUG were warmly welcomed and honoured to be asked to play at the 2015 Queen Elizabeth Hospital Volunteers Christmas banquet and party. Easily one of the largest gatherings we have ever played at and the most enthusiastic as well. So many too that took the time to come and thank us for our wonderful Christmas music on their departure. President of the Auxiliary, Carolyn Villard ,who hosted the banquet and who was the MC for the evening gave kind words of praise to SMUG for being able to be there and play for the evening party. Along with an absolutely wonderful meal we were treated to some hilarious comedy put on by a well known comedian and organizer, Barbara Perry as "Sarah". She had the house in stitches for 15 minutes or so. I saw people smiling and laughing who hardly ever crack a smile!

We were in the company of Her Honour, Dorothy Lewis, wife of the Lieutenant Governor, Frank Lewis, as well as PEI government representative, The Honourable Richard E. Brown, Minister of Workforce and Advanced Learning. It should be noted that Mrs. Lewis is a Past President and Life Member of the Auxiliary.
Our thanks to Teresa McCabe for making the call and inviting us to attend this glorious evening.......we all had a ball.A very Merry Christmas to all from SMUG

CHRISTMAS COOKIES AT ANDREWS OF STRATFORD

What a great day we had at Andrews of Stratford. Sharon, the activity director, joined us for the concert and Karen, a volunteer brought us water when we were thirsty and gorgeous cookies fresh from the kitchen when we were hungry. The audience were plentiful and all had their singing voices on, and did just that. We played and sang with them for a little over an hour, and the report from down the hall by Karen after the performance made us all swell with pride. In her remarks at the opening Sharon told how SMUG was the first ukulele group, but now we have the well known Andrews Strummers to enjoy right here at home.

CHRISTMAS AGAIN AT 501 QUEEN

The long awaited 501 Queen Street venue happened last night as SMUG tried to head off the first PEI storm of the 2015-16 season. It was raining when we arrived but an hour later it was a wild snow-stormy evening. 501 queen was one of our first performances when we began doing such in 2009. As always the residents we well assembled when we arrived at 6:30 so we began a bit early to try to get ahead of the coming snow. The residents were jubilant throughout our program and sang and clapped joyously as we performed the hour-long program. Many accolades came our way following and a promise was given to Shirley Jorgensen, the organizer of the evening, to return again in the spring.
Sorry we didn't get a lot of photos of the evening.

SMUG PLAYS CHRISTMAS AT FIRST BAPTIST FOR 6TH YEAR

Tonight we played for our 6th appearance at First Baptist Church Annual Christmas Community dinner for 140 residents of Charlottetown. We too were treated to a lovely turkey dinner with all trimmings and dessert followed by tea and coffee. Everyone was so appreciative to have us add a bit of Christmas music to the evening. As usual we didn't get nearly enough photos of the evening.

CHRISTMAS MUSIC BEGINS AT THE MOUNT for 2015

Wow! And what a day we had at The Mount in Charlottetown. The Activity Director, Charmaine MacGregor, invited us a couple of months ago to do anothwer performance in the cafeteria. Getting close to Christmas it was thought a bit closer to December with some Christmas flavour might be in order, so, today was the day. When we arrived at 12:30 at the cafeteria, everyone had their lunch and were moving back to their quarters, and eventually we were left with only three eager residents who were looking forward to the stated performance. But by beginning time of 1 p.m. they were returning in droves herded along by Sister Mary who promised it would happen. They sang, they danced, they joked with us and clapped as loud as we have ever heard. It was a wonderful day at The Mount, made even more so by the photography of Elizabeth Moore who took many photos for us and we decided to print them all here for every one to enjoy. Elizabeth is not only a photographer and a bell ringer, she also has a ukulele......maybe next time Elizabeth, but thanks for the great photos. Ann had to leave early and Dennis arrived late, but it all evened out in the end and someone yelled "I hope you will come back" I think we would all love to.
