WINESING PLAYS MEADOW AND LUCY's 100th BIRTHDAY ON SAME DAY
ANOTHER SUNNY SPRING PERFORMANCE AT BEACH GROVE HOME
The sun always shines when SMUG goes to Beach Grove. We did our first performance since January there yesterday, and attempted a new format in combining Gospel Music with Hawaiian numbers. In so doing we created a new challenge for ourselves as we attempted many new Hawaiian numbers,as well as some new Gospel selections. The format not only adds to our repertoire, but was well received by those who filled the room as well as the adjacent hallway.
We were welcomed and introduced by Jenna LaMantia, the activity director, who told us following the performance how much the packed activity room appreciated having us, with the hope that we might return again sometime. It's always a pleasure to perform at Beach Grove as they sing along and seem to enjoy our presence there. Many welcome comments were heard from some of the residents following the performance. Jenna promised to forward more photos to us in the next few days, so additional pictures could soon be added here. A reminder that all of these photos can be enlarged by double clicking on them.

Surprise Appearance at ANDREWS
WineSing were surprised at a jam on Tuesday night when our old friend, Ron Tallon, appeared at our door unannounced. Ron was on his way from Quebec City when he received an email about our Tuesday night jam and thought he would try to make Charlottetown by 5:30.....he arrived at 5:45! Most of you know that Ron has moved to Mineville, Nova Scotia. As a result of what turned out to be a great evening, Ron joined us at Andrews Strummers on Wednesday morning where we were invited to perform for the residents on Thursday afternoon. The attached photos were taken with a phone and didn't turn out the best, but after everyone was supplied with a special treat to honour WineSing, it really made little difference . Ron plans to stay with us for the SMUG jam on Saturday as well.
We had great comments from the residents following the hour performance when many said how much they liked to hear the "old pieces" that they knew and could sing along with. We enjoy seeing them singing along as well.
Our thanks to Sharon for her most generous hospitality and cuisine. We may Rise Again!
