WINESING DOES BEACH GROVE BIRTHDAYS

WineSing had the pleasure of doing the October Birthdays today at Beach Grove Home, of which there were eight of the residents. We did a super performance to please so many that were in attendance and had the pleasure to listen to the great comments from those assembled. During the performance I tried to do a video, but to no avail as I couldn't get it to download here....sorry!

OKTOBERFEST AT ANDREWS OF STRATFORD

Andrews of Stratford invited WineSing back for their annual Oktoberfest gala again this year. Struggling without Maurice who came down with a cold, we rolled through 20 or more tunes and enjoyed some German food and beverage. Stories were told by Ann and Sharon. It was a great festive time and all enjoyed the afternoon, as so many joined in the singing as well as the beverage tray served by Karen.

BACK AT IT

At long last and after a two month layoff the SMUG crew got back to our usual Saturday morning gatherings at the Masonic Lodge today. While at least 10 of our group were missing, including our two bass players, with 17 in attendance we had a great morning singing in the circle, drinking tea and coffee and eating Mary's wonderful cinnamon rolls and special doughnuts made with loving care at 5 o'clock this morning.....complete with extra butter to bring out the true flavours!

The photographer got rather lax after the first wave arrived this morning, got caught up in the excitement and forgot to take more photos of the more social time, but managed a couple as we were about to leave. As the photographer is struggling to learn how to use a new camera, you might understand. After a frustrating week of learning I am surprised this blog came together so easily.

A suggestion to only meet every second week was quickly vetoed so we are on our way until next summer to fill in as many Saturdays as possible, until we will once again consider a 2016 summer break. It would be the intention not to book so many appearances in the future, as more of the group seem to appreciate the Saturday morning gatherings the most. We do however have 4 or 5 gigs lined up before Christmas, if indeed they all come off.
